OREANDA-NEWS The Strait of Hormuz is open to Russia, Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said.
"For us, Hormuz (Strait of Hormuz) is open," Ushakov told IS Vesti, answering the relevant question.
The Strait of Hormuz, which is a key export route for oil produced in the Persian Gulf, has remained closed for a month due to military operations in the Middle East. Since the outbreak of the conflict in the region, only a small number of ships have passed through the strait, many of them linked to Iran.
Iran insists that it prohibits passage through the Strait of Hormuz for ships traveling from or to ports of its allies Israel and the United States, regardless of destination. Last week, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that passage through the Strait of Hormuz is open to friendly countries. "We have allowed passage to China, Russia, India, Iraq and Pakistan," he said.
