OREANDA-NEWS   The judge was unable to access WhatsApp (owned by Meta, which is recognized as an extremist organization in the Russian Federation) of the former Minister of Health of the Vladimir region, Valery Yanin, where evidence of his crimes could be found. This is reported by Mash.

According to investigators, since 2021, Yanin, holding the post of chief physician of the Alexander regional hospital, charged subordinates increased financial payments and partially took them for himself. He carried out a similar fraud after his appointment to a new position.

One of the main proofs of the defendant's guilt was his WhatsApp correspondence with one of the employees. The court was asked to look at it on Yanin's phone, but no printouts were provided. However, it was not possible to log in to the application due to slowdowns, and the judge did not use the VPN service, as this is prohibited.

The meeting was postponed. If the problem is not solved, the doubts will be interpreted in favor of the accused.

Yanin's arrest was reported on December 13, 2024. He was charged with abuse of office.
