OREANDA-NEWS President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called the absence of hostilities a condition for the resumption of oil supplies to Slovakia and Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline. He made the corresponding statement in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
According to Zelensky, he explained to Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico that "the pipeline has been destroyed" and "a cease-fire is necessary to restore it."
The head of the Hungarian government, Viktor Orban, was called a magician by the Ukrainian president for allegedly being able to see the condition of the oil pipeline underground.
Earlier, Orban, citing satellite data, said that the pipeline was operational. "You can see the technical reservoirs from the satellite. One large reservoir is ruptured there. This is something that can be seen. You won't see the remote control in the satellite," Zelensky shared in this regard.
Supplies via the pipeline, through which Ukraine pumped its oil, were stopped at the end of January. As the media reported, citing European diplomats, Brussels promises Orban to ensure the resumption of supplies in exchange for refusing to block financing for Ukraine.
