OREANDA-NEWS  A full-fledged study of the exploration program in the Russian Arctic will begin after the formation of a program for new regions, Oleg Kazanov, head of Rosnedra, said in an interview with RIA Novosti on the eve of the SPIEF.

In April, he said that Rosnedra plans to start preparing a geological exploration program in the Arctic and in new regions of the Russian Federation in 2025.

"Preliminary work is underway on the Arctic zone, and upon completion of the program for reunified subjects, we will begin work on it," the head of Rosnedra said on Wednesday.

According to him, a working version of the exploration program in the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, will be presented in June. Its implementation is planned for 2026-2031, but the details require discussion with the federal authorities.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) will be held from June 18 to 21. RIA Novosti is the information partner of the forum.
