OREANDA-NEWS. September 19, 2008. 44 million 692 thousand 500 UAH being totally put into the Government’s charitable account for victims of the natural disaster, occurred on 23-27 July 2008.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko informed in the course of a meeting of the Government Commission on providing aid to the citizens suffered from the flood.

“I was pleased very much to see that hundreds of thousands of the Ukrainians helped in this hard time to those who had suffered and needed aid,” the PM stated.

Yulia Tymoshenko noted that according to the proposals of the Government Commission, all funds went into the Government’s charitable account would be allotted “exceptionally among the people”, as the Government had already allocated enough funds for recovery work.

According to the PM, the biggest sum of compensation will be granted to minor children who were maintained by persons who died in the flood, in particular, 21 children will receive 100 thousand UAH to each.

Moreover, senior citizens who were maintained by a person who died, the Government will allocate 50 thousand UAH to each and other members of the family which were maintained by a person who died – 25 thousand UAH to each.

To the pensioners suffered from the natural disaster, occurred on 23-27 July 2008, it is proposed to grant a single aid at the rate of 1 thousand UAH to each. The people of middle age in the region are totaling 30 thousand 354 people. Children and students under 23 years old who live in the families of the 1, 2 and 3 categories will get a single pecuniary aid at the rate of 500 UAH. There are 15 thousand 842 of such children and youth.

219 handicapped children will receive a non-repeat pecuniary aid 1000 UAH to each. 1769 invalids of the 1-3 categories will also have an aid. 258 persons (1 invalid category) will get 1400 UAH to each, 853 persons (2 invalid category) will obtain 1200 UAH to each, 658 persons (3 invalid category) will obtain 1000 UAH to each of a single aid.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko stressed that the most important that these funds were rightly allotted that “every charitable hryvnia was not lost, was not stuck in hands of officials but fell into the people’s hands”.
