OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2009. The Turkmen leader said that the agenda focused on the results of the work of the military and law enforcement agencies done in the past seven months and the priority tasks set to these agencies by the national policy and the Military Doctrine.

The President focused on the need for the information support of the activities of the law enforcement agencies that were to cement the foundation of law and order and stand guard over the peaceful and constructive life of the Turkmen people.

Minister of Defence, Secretary of the State Security Council Ya. Berdiev reported on the work done by the editorial staffs of the specialized periodicals and the failures to fulfill the designated tasks by the editorial staff of Adalat newspaper in particular.

Then the editors-in-chief of the specialized newspapers and journals reported on the work done in the period. Editor-in-Chief of Milli Gosun journal M. Atabaev, Editor-in-Chief of Esger newspaper A. Geldyev, Editor-in-Chief of Serhet abat – Dovklet abat journal J. Mommadov, Editor-in-Chief of Adalat newspaper D. Gurbangeldyev and Editor-in-Chief of Asudalygyn goragynda journal Sh. Ataev presented the reports.

Focusing on the role of periodical press as an essential factor of forming the public conscience Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the national newspapers and journals were to fulfill the important tasks to bring the younger generation to love their native land, respect and maintain the age-old spiritual traditions of the nation and values common to all mankind and elucidate the strategic goals of the national policy – maintenance of peace and security, enhancement of the ties of friendship and good neighbourliness with different countries in the world. The President said that unfortunately, these goals were not covered in a proper manner on the pages of the newspapers and journals that testified to their fault and inefficiency. The President relieved Editor-in-Chief of Adalat newspaper D. Gurbangeldyev due to the transfer to another job and appointed S. Baymyradov to this post.

Minister of Motor Transport G. Khanulyev reported n the fulfillment of the instructions of the President. In particular, the Minister reported on the measures taken to replenish the fleet of vehicles and the results of the foreign business trip to study the proposals of Turkmenistan’s partners – the manufactures of motor vehicles.

Commenting on the report the Turkmen leader said that the fleet of high-powered vehicles had been form and was replenished on a regular basis. The President suggested establishing an association that would prepare young people for military service. The President said that this association would carry out the full-scale work to ensure the high level of engineering literacy, physical training and morality of youth who were to serve in the armed forces of the country. The major goal of the activity of the new association would be training young people in technical professions that it would achieve in close collaboration with the government agencies and public organisations. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave instructions to the high-ranking officials to draft the relevant proposals.

The Minister of Defence reported on the work done and the measures taken to strengthen and modernize the material and technical basis of the armed force, to enhance the defence capacity of the national army.

The Minister of National Security reported on the progress in construction of the second turn of the Military Academy of Turkmenistan. The Minister said that the higher school was supplied with up-to-date computer equipment that was required to train highly qualified specialists who would replenish the ranks of defenders of peace and security of the native land.

The Chairman of the State Border Service reported on the deliveries of special machines that enabled to considerably increase technological level and enhance defence capacity of the military units that defended the border of the Motherland.

The Minister of Internal Affairs reported on the work aimed at developinf the knowledge and skills of the MIA personnel and in this context the progress in construction of the building of the Police Academy of Turkmenistan.

The Prosecutor General reported on the work of the prosecutors’ office aimed at enforcing law in all spheres of the life of the state and society.

The Chairman of the Supreme Court reported on the measures aimed at further improving development of the judicial system in the country.

The Minister of Justice reported on the work done to promote the ongoing legal reform and update further the national legislation in particular.

Acting Chairman of the State Customs Service reported on the work done by the agency to control the flow of traffic and transit traffic as well that crossed the border of Turkmenistan.

The Chairman of the Migration Service reported on the measures taken to ensure the effective functioning of the agency.

The Acting Chairman of the State Service on Drug reported on the activities of the agency to implement the long-term national programme in particular.

Commenting on the reports the President focused on the importance of the issues considered and the top-priority tasks to be fulfilled to implement the Military Doctrine. The Turkmen leader said that having laid the foundation of the welfare and wellbeing of the country for many years ahead everyone should spare no effort to build the strong and economically developed state on that foundation. Toa larger extent this goal could be achieved through further enhancing the basis of peace and security of the Motherland and training the younger generation who were to bring Turkmenistan to the new heights of progress and wellbeing. Therefore, paramount attention should be paid to these tasks including training of highly qualified personnel for the military and law enforcement agencies as well, the President emphasized.

Touching upon the coming ceremony of putting the second turn of the Military Academy and the Police Academy into operation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed belief that graduates of these higher schools would be maintain the traditions of the ancestors who had cherished freedom and independence of the Motherland more than their lives.

In conclusion the President wished good health and every success in fulfilling the designated tasks to those present.
