OREANDA-NEWS  US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of additional duties on imports from six more countries.

On August 1, duties will amount to 30 percent for Algeria, Libya, and Iraq; for Brunei and Moldova — 25 percent; for the Philippines, it is 20 percent.

On July 4, Trump announced that he would begin sending notifications to foreign countries about new duties ranging from ten or 40 percent to 60 or 70. At the same time, the innovation will not affect many categories of goods, as they fall into the list of exceptions approved by the United States.

After returning to the White House, Trump began to tighten trade policy: he imposed duties on imports from Mexico and Canada, raised them for China, and announced tariffs on steel, aluminum, and automobiles. The culmination was on April 2: Washington imposed reciprocal import duties. The base rate was ten percent, but increased rates were applied for 57 countries. At the same time, a week later, the tariff increase was put on pause, and the United States began negotiations with many trading partners.
