OREANDA-NEWS In 2025, more than 130 companies in the Russian coal industry received deferrals for the payment of mineral extraction taxes (MET) and insurance premiums, a special subcommittee reviewed the situations of 13 groups of coal companies, including 45 sections and mines, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation reports on the results of the activities of the subcommittee in 2025.

"More than 130 enterprises of the coal industry, which faced a deterioration in financial and economic performance, received a system-wide measure of support in the form of deferred payment of taxes on mining (MET) and insurance premiums," according to materials on the ministry's website following the results of the final meeting of the subcommittee on financial support measures in 2025 for individual organizations of economic sectors. "Thus, during its work, the problematic situations of 13 groups of companies were considered, including 45 coal mines and mines, 19 processing plants, 13 transport and logistics organizations and 36 industries in other industries, including metallurgy and logging," the materials say.
