OREANDA-NEWS In the second decade of September, the average maximum deposit rate in the ten largest Russian financial institutions fell to 15.56 percent per annum. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to data from the Central Bank (CB).

The statistics were based on information on bank deposits in the top 10 financial organizations that attract the largest volume of ruble deposits. In comparison with the previous decade, the indicator decreased by 0.029 percentage points at the height of the first month of autumn.

The dynamics of bank deposit rates largely depends on changes in the Central Bank's key rate. The decrease in the average maximum deposit rate in the second decade of September followed the decision of the regulator's management to lower the key rate by 100 basis points from 18 to 17 percent per annum.
