OREANDA-NEWS In the period from March 7 to April 4, the Bank of Russia's daily currency sales will amount to approximately 5.96 billion rubles, according to the Ministry of Finance's report on oil and gas revenues for February.

Last month's revenues amounted to 771.3 billion rubles, exceeding the forecast by 2.9 billion rubles. The agency expects that in March, additional oil and gas revenues will total 57.2 billion rubles. Therefore, in the coming month, approximately 60.1 billion rubles (or 2.9 billion per day) will be allocated for the purchase of foreign currency and gold.

The Ministry of Finance will transfer funds to the Bank of Russia for these purchases, and the Bank will sell 8.86 thousand rubles per day through a mirroring operation to achieve the required net sales amount. From February 7 to March 6, these sales totaled 5.56 thousand rubles.

In recent months, Russia's oil and gas revenues have been steadily declining. In November 2024, these revenues amounted to 801.7 billion rubles. In December, they were 790.2 billion and in January, 789.1 billion. By the end of 2024, this figure had increased to 11.131 trillion rubles.
