OREANDA-NEWS No artificial intelligence will be able to cope with the issue of budget formation, since for these purposes a "soul" is needed. This was stated by Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov in an interview with VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin, a fragment of which was published on his Telegram channel.

"Anyway, when you form a budget, you need a soul here. I don't think any artificial intelligence can handle this yet," Siluanov said.

Prior to this, the head of the economic department explained that the Ministry of Finance is currently studying the experience in using AI in other countries. According to him, Russia is following its own path in this regard, while artificial intelligence is already helping the ministry calculate its revenue base.

Among other things, experts also use AI for interagency interaction at the stage of the budget process. Artificial intelligence is an assistant for the formulation of the relevant article titles, the budget classification code, and can also determine the parameters of the results of certain budget allocations, the minister explained.

At the end of 2025, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov assessed the Russian budget deficit. As he pointed out, the indicator should not exceed the planned 2.6 percent of GDP.
