Russian Artemiy Panarin scored one of the goals for the winners. It's his first goal for Los Angeles since joining the Rangers. Panarin also scored an assist.
Islanders goalkeeper Ilya Sorokin blocked 30 of 35 shots.
The transfer of 34-year-old Panarin was announced in early February. Panarin has played for the Rangers since the 2019/20 season. He leads the team in goals (205), assists (402), and points (607).
