OREANDA-NEWS Sergey Serezleev, who resigned from the post of chairman of the Press and Media Relations Committee of St. Petersburg in 2019, decided to volunteer in the special military operation zone (SVO) and accomplished the feat. Tsargrad tells his story.
According to the newspaper, the service led the 56-year-old former official to a concrete pipe near Belogorovka, where he spent 50 days to rescue a wounded soldier. All this time, the man was under constant shelling. Before him, two other rescue groups tried to rescue the wounded soldier with the call sign Watson, but they were destroyed by enemy fire.
At the same time, Serezleev and his partner had to not only save the wounded man, but also stay in the pipe. "We had to create a movement, distract the enemy's attention and aggression," he explained. At some point, the fighters were left without water for six days, which was the most difficult ordeal for them, but Serezleev managed to overcome this.
Before one of the assaults, the fighter went out for a planned mine clearance of the territory, but, not noticing the bomb, stepped on it. As a result, doctors were unable to save his leg. He is currently undergoing treatment after a serious injury.
"After going through 50 days of hell in a concrete pipe, saving comrades and diverting fire on himself, Sergey Serezleev showed that anyone can become a hero, regardless of their background and age," the author of the publication summarizes.
Earlier, the wife of the Russian machinist told about his heroic deed. Pavel Mishin managed to save the lives of dozens of people thanks to his professionalism.
