OREANDA-NEWS  Muscovites will face almost a week of abnormal heat. This was announced to the TASS news agency by the Hydrometeorological Center.

Extreme heat is forecast in the capital region for the next five days. During the working week, the thermometer will stay above the climatic norm by 7-9 degrees. On Monday, May 18, the air will warm up to plus 28-30 degrees in the city and plus 26-31 degrees in the region. On Tuesday, the temperature will be about plus 30-32 degrees during the day and plus 15-17 degrees at night. Until Friday, May 22, the temperature may rise to plus 32 degrees. Against the background of such an abnormal heat wave, orange, the penultimate level of weather danger, was introduced in Moscow and the Moscow region. It will be valid until Friday evening.

This weather situation is caused by the arrival of a tropospheric ridge from Central Asia. At the same time, air masses from the Black and Caspian Seas will move along its southern and western periphery, bringing with them short-term rains and thunderstorms.

Sultry weather is also expected in other regions of Central Russia, in particular, in the Vladimir, Ryazan, Tula, Kaluga, Smolensk, Tver, Yaroslavl, Kostroma and Ivanovo regions.

According to forecasts by Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, such unseasonably hot weather will last in the capital until May 22.
