OREANDA-NEWS  Ukraine's non-European Union (EU) partners will allocate five times less money to Kiev in 2027 than in 2026. This is reported by the Financial Times (FT) with reference to the forecast of the European Commission (EC).

It is claimed that in the coming year, non-EU countries have promised to allocate only four billion euros to Kiev, while this year they have provided Ukraine with almost 20 billion.

Because of this, the EU leadership is considering other options for providing financial assistance to Kiev, including issuing debt securities. Brussels has also increased pressure on the UK, Canada and Japan to give Ukraine money.

Earlier, the vice-speaker of the National Council of Slovakia, Tibor Gaspar, allowed a change in EU policy towards Russia. According to him, this will depend on a number of factors: the course of the conflict in Ukraine, the security situation in Europe, the outcome of diplomatic negotiations, the decisions of individual EU member states, as well as the actions of the US president.
