OREANDA-NEWS Russian developers have begun to review the design of apartments. Mini-format kitchens will appear in the new housing complexes, Mikhail Anichkin, Chairman of the Security Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, told 360 TV channel.

"I just talked to a reputable construction company today, which told me that they are currently considering new complexes that will be built with limited kitchen space, because young families are not cooking anything right now," Anichkin said. According to the observations of domestic developers, spacious kitchens have outlived their usefulness: modern women have become less likely to cook and prefer to order food at home. The kitchen's functionality is now mostly limited to heating food.

According to Anichkin, this trend does not bode well. The TV channel's interlocutor equates cooking with the basics of family life. "If we are talking about the traditional values of the family, then cooking is a very important process in general in creating a family climate. <...> During dinner or lunch, people exchange opinions, summarize the results of the day," he commented.

Earlier, the Russians described the apartment of their dreams. So, almost half of Russians want the housing area to reach 70-100 square meters. The cost of an apartment should ideally be 5-10 million rubles.
