OREANDA-NEWS. The Head of the Presidential Administration visited White House and had a working meeting with his colleague - White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough.

The parties discussed the achievements of Ukraine over the past two years, particularly in the functioning of anti-corruption institutions and various reforms. “The White House Chief of Staff is well informed on the internal processes of Ukraine and commends our progress,” Borys Lozhkin noted.

The White House Chief of Staff reiterated support of the United States for the European integration aspirations of Ukraine and emphasized the importance of peaceful settlement of the situation in the east of Ukraine under the Minsk agreements.

In the course of the meeting, Borys Lozhkin and Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Evan Ryan agreed to further promote the initiative of President Petro Poroshenko on the invitation of students from Yale, Harvard, Columbia University etc. for internship in Ukraine. Evan Ryan praised Go Global project that encourages studying English in Ukraine and confirmed willingness to provide necessary assistance to the project.

Borys Lozhkin and Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright discussed the implementation of reforms in Ukraine, particularly in the anti-corruption sphere. During the meeting with Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman, the parties have discussed the attraction of investments in Ukraine and the necessity of rapprochement between Ukrainian and western regulatory standards.

The Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine has also examined the functioning of SelectUSA Investment Summit - the largest U.S. conference on attraction of FDI and had a conversation with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and Deputy Secretary of Commerce Bruce Andrews. Borys Lozhkin believes it is feasible to organize similar event in Ukraine, which may be called Select Ukraine.
