OREANDA-NEWS. The National Centre for Advocacy Studies(NCAS), Pune in association with various civil society organisations, will hold a day-long pre-BRICS Consultation (Western Region) in Goa to highlight the point of view of vulnerable communities.

NCAS is joining hands with Wada Na Todo Abhiyan (WNTA), People’s Budget Initiative (PBI), and OXFAM India for the consultations to be held at International Centre Goa. The presidency of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) rotates every year among its members. Russia held it last year and it is India’s turn this year to host the meeting this year. The official meeting of BRICS is scheduled on October 15 and16 in Goa.

“The importance of the five-nation bloc is on a constant rise, more so with the commission of the New Development Bank (formerly known as BRICS Bank),” Amit Narkar, who heads NCAS, told The Hindu.
