OREANDA-NEWS German automotive components supplier Bosch announced a partial suspension of production at three plants due to problems with the supply of Nexperia chips, the Reuters news agency reported, citing a representative of the concern.
The shortage of chips arose due to a dispute over the Nexperia chip manufacturer owned by the Chinese Wingtech concern, which the Dutch authorities had previously taken under control. In response, the Chinese authorities banned the export of parts from the country, and since then the production of chips at Nexperia factories has been partially suspended.
"Despite attempts to resolve the dispute ... around the manufacturer of Nexperia chips, deliveries of important components are still delayed. As a result... the world's largest supplier of automotive components is temporarily suspending production at three plants," the statement said.
