Cargo turnover at Russian seaports has increased

OREANDA-NEWS Cargo turnover at Russian commercial seaports increased by 5.8 percent in the first half of 2026, to 451.45 thousand tons. As follows from the data published on the website of the "Sea Center", the maximum growth of 59.7 percent was shown in the Caspian basin.
Cargo transshipment also increased in the Arctic (by 15 percent), the Far East (by 11.8 percent) and the Azov-Black Sea (by 6.3 percent) basins, and only in the Baltic the figure decreased by 4.2 percent.
Exports increased by 5.7 percent to 354.7 thousand tons, cargo transit decreased by 6.1 percent to 34.2 thousand tons, and import transshipment increased by 1.7 percent to 21.25 thousand tons. "The transshipment of liquefied gas, oil and food cargoes has increased, while chemical and petroleum products have decreased," the report also says.
In 2025, the total indicator fell by 2.3 percent in January-October, and the decline was adjusted to 0.4 percent for the whole year. At the beginning of 2026, the downward trend in cargo turnover at Russian seaports continued.
