Eight European countries have signed a document on military mobility

OREANDA-NEWS Eight countries have signed a memorandum of understanding on ensuring uninterrupted military mobility in Europe. This was announced by the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense.
"The Ministry of National Defense has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on ensuring uninterrupted military mobility in Europe. The agreement was signed jointly with Lithuania by representatives of Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland and Slovakia," the Defense Ministry said in a statement. It is noted that the existing Netherlands-Germany-Poland corridor is planned to be expanded in the west through Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as in the east, at the expense of Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
According to the Lithuanian Defense Ministry, the creation of the Central-Northern European Military Mobility Region is aimed at unifying border crossing rules, ensuring common control and coordination of vehicles, as well as effective information exchange, synchronization of infrastructure development and interaction between countries.
In addition, the Minister of Defense of the Republic, Robertas Kaunas, called coordinated military mobility a national priority of Lithuania. "Lithuania's main goal is to strengthen infrastructural cooperation on the eastern flank of NATO, especially in close cooperation with neighboring allies Poland and Latvia," he added.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the level of Russophobia in the Baltic States has not decreased after Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia joined the European Union (EU), but on the contrary, has increased. According to him, Brussels had previously promised Moscow the opposite effect.
