OREANDA-NEWS  British Jaguar Land Rover plans to resume production in the coming days, which was halted in early September as a result of a cyberattack. The company said it has informed suppliers and partners that some of its production lines will be operational soon.

Jaguar, which manufactures Land Rover, Jaguar, and Range Rover vehicles, first reported the cybersecurity incident on September 2. Then the company was forced to shut down all its systems.

The suspension of production costs Jaguar at least 50 million pounds per week ($68 million), according to Reuters. Its three factories in the UK usually produce about 1,000 vehicles per day.

Peter Kyle, Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology of the United Kingdom, and Chris McDonald, Minister of Industry, visited Jaguar factories last week. Subsequently, the government promised to support the company in attracting a loan of 1.5 million pounds, designed to mitigate the financial consequences of the cyberattack. The guarantees for this loan will be provided by the UK Export Finance Agency (UKEF).
