OREANDA-NEWS  Russian artist Nikas Safronov commented on the robbery of the Louvre, which took place on October 19. He said this in an interview with the newspaper.Ru».

According to Safronov, the theft of valuable exhibits became possible due to the greed of the French, who were responsible for the museum's security.

"Stupidity and greed ruined them. The French spare [money] for everything, they don't spare for themselves, but they spare for the Louvre. We have lost a lot, an important cultural heritage," the artist said.

Nikas also admitted that the robbers were amateurs: "Some hard workers stole, they didn't even know it was a crown, they didn't take off a valuable stone. I think they created a plan at a primitive level, and it worked," he added.

Earlier it became known that the head of the Louvre made a speech in the French Senate about the museum's security system and proposed measures against theft.
