OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that on the eve of February 24, he held consultations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the correspondent reports. NEWS.ru . Speaking in the State Duma, the prime minister clarified that he had discussed approaches to financing the budget deficit with the head of state.

Earlier, at a meeting on economic issues, Putin stated the need to increase the efficiency of the Russian economy by creating modern and well-paid jobs. The Head of State instructed the government to pay special attention to improving the employment structure, emphasizing the importance of this both for experienced professionals and for those who are receiving an education or are just deciding on a future profession.

In addition, at the first meeting on economic issues in 2026, the Russian president said that by the end of 2025, the country's gross domestic product had increased by 1%. Putin noted that this indicator is inferior to the growth rates recorded before.

Also, at the first meeting on economic issues, the Russian leader stated the need to return the country's economy to its previous growth rates. The Head of State noted that measures for this purpose are provided by the plan of structural transformations, calculated until 2030.
