OREANDA-NEWS Security forces have suppressed the activities of an organized criminal group that illegally legalized more than a thousand migrants in Moscow, and laboratories where fake migration documents were produced have been eliminated, the press service of the Russian Guard reports.
"Employees of the FSB of Russia, with the forceful support of the Avangard riot police of the Rosgvardiya GU in Moscow, suppressed the illegal activities of an organized criminal group engaged in the illegal legalization of migrants in the metropolitan region. According to preliminary estimates, the organized group illegally legalized more than a thousand foreign citizens, receiving an income of at least two million rubles," the agency said in a statement.
According to the agency, four Azerbaijani natives with Russian citizenship, aged from 34 to 62 years, were detained. The attackers produced fake migration cards that allow foreigners to stay in Russia for up to 90 days, and issued fictitious labor patents, according to the press service.
Law enforcement officers also eliminated two clandestine laboratories where forged documents were produced. Equipment, office equipment, customer databases, migration cards, seals of various organizations, passports of citizens of Central Asian countries and other evidence confirming illegal activities were seized.
All the detainees were found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 2 to 5 years to serve their sentences in a general regime penal colony, the department noted.
