OREANDA-NEWS In Russia, in 2027, it is planned to launch work within the framework of the soil fertility improvement program, which is being developed by the Ministry of Agriculture. This was announced at the board of the department by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev. He is quoted by Interfax.
"I expect it to be ready in 2026, and its implementation will begin next year," the deputy prime minister said.
According to Kommersant, we are talking about launching a pilot project to develop adaptive landscape farming systems (ALSOS), which at the first stage will be developed for seven Russian regions, including the Voronezh, Omsk, Belgorod and Rostov regions, as well as the Stavropol Territory. Two more regions where it is planned to improve soil fertility will be identified later.
"ALSZ represent scientifically based land use systems that take into account the natural and climatic characteristics of specific territories (...) The programs will provide recommendations to the regions on crop rotation, crop nutrition systems and land reclamation," the publication says.
Patrushev also said on May 29 that within the framework of the state program "Earth", three million hectares of unused land have been returned to circulation in Russia since 2022, and by 2030 the figure should reach 13 million hectares. "The land cannot stand idle," the Deputy Prime Minister stressed, calling for monitoring the implementation of planned projects.
