OREANDA-NEWS Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov did not rule out a meeting between Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump at the APEC summit. This was stated by a Kremlin representative to the Izvestia newspaper.

The event will be held in autumn in Shenzhen, China. "Theoretically, yes. Theoretically, a meeting with all participants of this summit is possible there," Peskov said.

The Kremlin representative recalled that such international events are held for such contacts.

Earlier, Peskov said that comparing the ceremonial visits to China by the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, makes no sense, since the main value of such contacts lies in the content of the negotiations. According to him, the phrases spoken by Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the beginning of the narrow format of the talks demonstrate that both sides "attach great importance to this content."
