OREANDA-NEWS. A group of senators from the US Republican and Democratic parties introduced a bill providing for an annual allocation of 300 million dollars to Ukraine as a military aid, including the provision of lethal weapons.

At the moment, the Pentagon annually allocates about 250 million dollars for military assistance to Kiev. Senators want to consolidate the financial obligations of the United States with a new bill.

In addition, the document provides for the allocation of about 4 million dollars for the training of Ukrainian officers.

The draft law also requires the appointment of a special envoy to Ukraine as a representative of the American administration, who will participate in the peace talks in the Normandy format. The document also contains an appeal to the US State Department to create with the European partners a working group on Ukraine.
