OREANDA-NEWS. On March 13, a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and UK Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mark Malloch Brown took place at the MFA.

In the conversation, Lavrov and Malloch Brown stated the mutual interest in expanding their countries’ cooperation in overcoming the global financial and economic crisis. Ahead of the upcoming G20 summit on April 2 in London, they pointed to the need for all members of the world community to jointly get out of this situation and create a new, fairer financial and economic system based on multipolarity, rule of law, responsibility of key actors for decisions, and mutual consideration of interests.

Individual aspects of the situation in Sudan and Afghanistan were discussed, along with Middle East settlement issues.
