OREANDA-NEWS Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on the approval of the strategy of development of the mineral resource base until 2035, a document was published on the website of the Cabinet.

"Approve the attached Strategy of development of mineral resources base of the Russian Federation till 2035", - it is told in the document.

The mineral resource base is understood as a set of proven and estimated reserves of minerals, as well as localized and forecast resources.

The strategy establishes priorities, goals and objectives of the geological industry aimed at sustainable supply of mineral resources to the needs of the economy, including export commitments. The strategy is the basis for the formation of the state policy in the field of geological exploration, reproduction and use of mineral resources at the Federal and regional levels.

It is noted that the strategy involves increasing the mineral resource base by increasing the investment attractiveness of geological exploration, increasing the quality of forecasting and searching for new fields, as well as improving the efficiency of development of known, including undeveloped, fields. The increase in efficiency is possible through the introduction of modern technologies of processing, enrichment and complex extraction of minerals.

The document also provides for economic stimulation of geological exploration and staffing development of the mineral resource base.

Earlier, Medvedev said that the government plans to use including the economic incentive model to implement the strategy. "Especially for the development of new fields, where there is no infrastructure, fields with hard-to-recover reserves. In particular, we are talking about support from the Federal budget for early-stage geological exploration. As well as the creation of special tax regimes to attract private investment in such works", — said the Prime Minister.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin said that Russia's gas will never end, because its reserves are almost inexhaustible.
