OREANDA-NEWS. In response to the expulsion of two Russian diplomats from Colombia, Russia declares two employees of the republic’s embassy in Moscow personae non grata. This is stated in the message of the Russian Foreign Ministry published on December 23.

As the agency informed, on December 22, Colombian Ambassador to Moscow, Alfonso Lopez Caballero, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, where he was protesting in connection with the expulsion of two Russian diplomats. The Ambassador of Colombia was told that, based on the principle of reciprocity, the Russian side declares two employees of the Colombian diplomatic mission in Moscow personae non grata.

Earlier, the head of the migration service of Colombia, Juan Francisco Espinosa, informed that two employees of the Russian Embassy left the country on December 8. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic said that this decision was made in connection with the implementation of activities by diplomats incompatible with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
