OREANDA-NEWS. Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Andrey Rudenko claims that Ukraine’s statements and the process of implementing the agreements reached at the Normandy summit in Paris in December call into question the holding of a new meeting scheduled for April.

According to the diplomat, only the exchange of prisoners took place, and the rest of the clauses were not fulfilled. Rudenko emphasized that without fulfilling the political aspects of the “Paris package”, we cannot speak about the exact dates of a new summit in the “Normandy format.”

He also noted that the “Western partners” support the “peace enforcement operation”, which is aimed at forcible returning Donbass to Ukraine without introduction of special status of the region. Rudenko considers that this runs counter to the Minsk Agreements, and the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass are not satisfied with this plan.
