OREANDA-NEWS. Member of the Federation Council of Russia, Aleksey Pushkov, commented on a bill, aiming to expand the application of economic sanctions against Ukraine, submitted to the State Duma.

According to the politician, Russia’s expansion of restrictions is necessary and justified. Pushkov noted that sanctions have become an important tool of Western foreign policy, which is also widely used by Ukrainian authorities. The senator considers that the Russian side should use the means that other countries are using against it “on the basis of reciprocity.”

On July 28, it was reported that the Russian cabinet submitted to the State Duma a draft amendment that would allow extending restrictions to legal entities in which foreign companies and citizens, who fell under the previously imposed sanctions, have more than 25 %.
