OREANDA-NEWS. Former president of Georgia and ex-governor of the Odessa Region, Mikheil Saakashvili said he had received an offer from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to join the government as deputy prime minister for reforming.

“I have a very responsible attitude towards this proposal and my decision, because it is a very difficult time for the country. We have a very complex period ahead both in the economy and in general in life in the country. Now we have more than ever to be courageous in our decisions and reforms,” Saakashvili wrote on his Facebook page.

The politician added that he had a “very informative and useful” conversation with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal. Saakashvili intends to submit his proposals to the Verkhovna Rada. He expressed hope to become a “reliable member” of the team and use his international experience to enhance the prestige of Ukraine.
