OREANDA-NEWS. On June 10, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced bringing a new charge against former President of the country, Petro Poroshenko.

The politician’s lawyer Ilya Novikov called it illegal. According to him, Poroshenko was summoned for questioning by the National Bureau of Investigation. “Even before the interrogation began, an employee of the Office of the Prosecutor General approached us and tried to hand in a message. Since this was not according to the law and procedure, we refused to communicate with him,” the lawyer explained. Novikov pointed out, that the Prosecutor General, Iryna Venediktova, should hand the notification of the indictment to the member of the parliament.
