OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin has established a procedure for transferring state ownership of funds and precious metals in bank accounts and deposits deemed extortionate. The decree is published on the portal of the official publication of legal acts.

By such assets, we mean those that belong to deceased Russians, but were not claimed by the heirs. According to the text of the decree, money and precious metals are transferred to the budget five years after their recognition as extortionate. This procedure will be applied if inheritance cases have not been opened on the property.

The State's right to take assets will be confirmed by a list that includes persons whose property has been declared extortionate. The Federal Property Management Agency has been instructed to form the list based on data from the Federal Tax Service (FTS), the notary Chamber, bailiffs and banks.

The government has until April 1, 2027 to submit proposals for amendments to the legislation establishing the procedure for identifying property suitable for transfer to Russian ownership.

Earlier it was reported that the Moscow apartment of actress Ksenia Kachalina may be recognized as extortionate, because her daughter from the Honored Artist of Russia Mikhail Efremov, Anna-Maria, is not trying to inherit.
