OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the rapid development of Tatarstan as one of Russia's industrial centers, but drew the attention of the head of the region, Rustam Minnikhanov, to the need to monitor the load on the ecosystem.

At a meeting in the Kremlin, the head of the republic informed the president about the economic development of the region. Putin noted that Tatarstan's gross regional product (GRP) had almost tripled in previous years.

"Tatarstan is an industrially developed region of the country, it is developing rapidly. I looked at the materials that you presented. You write that the burden on the ecosystem is nevertheless decreasing," the president said, addressing Minnikhanov.

The head of the region confirmed this.

"But still, this is a very important issue," Putin added.

Minnikhanov assured that "all the requirements of the "green" and circular economy" are being observed in the region. According to him, each project meets all international standards. In addition, the authorities of the republic are seriously working to modernize existing production facilities where there are emissions, and they have significantly reduced them, the head of Tatarstan said.

The head of the region also told the president about the development of individual enterprises, including the Kazan Helicopter Plant.
