OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting with members of the Russian government on Thursday, the main topic of discussion will be the use of the Honest Sign system to whitewash the economy.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, Head of Rosalokoltabakcontrol Igor Alyoshin and Head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova will make presentations at the meeting. The meeting will be held in a video conference format.

A number of current issues will also be considered.

The state system of digital labeling of goods "Honest Sign" has been operating in Russia since 2019, its operator is the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT). Currently, the labeling covers more than 50 product groups, from food and medicines to radio electronics and tires. Over 1.1 million companies are registered in the system.

During its operation, labeling has reduced the level of illegal turnover of goods on the market from 24.7% to 7.6%. The system has blocked over 3.7 billion counterfeit and counterfeit goods at the country's cash desks. Additional budget revenues due to the whitewashing of the market are estimated at about 2 trillion rubles.

Earlier, the head of state stated that the whitewashing of the Russian economy is the most important task facing the government. The President called the first steps taken in this direction effective, they bring concrete results. Putin noted that work on "further decriminalization of the consumer market" in Russia should be carried out at all levels: government, federal agencies, regions. But the measures taken should not create barriers for law-abiding businesses, the president emphasized.
