OREANDA-NEWS The mutual tourist flow between Russia and China increased by 50% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, said Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
"Due to the abolition of visa requirements in the first quarter of 2026, the mutual tourist flow increased by 50% compared to the same period last year. And the entry of only Chinese citizens to Russia has increased by almost a quarter — by 23%," the ministry's press service quoted Reshetnikov as saying.
He noted that these are not just numbers, but real economic returns for thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises in the hospitality, trade and transport sectors of Russia.
