OREANDA-NEWS The first launch from the Baikonur launch pad, which was restored after damage, is scheduled for March 22, said Dmitry Bakanov, Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation.
"Yesterday, the restoration process of the cabin for the 31st launch pad was completed. This site is designed for manned space exploration. Starting tomorrow, we will begin preparations for the launch of the Progress cargo ship, scheduled for March 22. We promised to do this (restore the cabin - ed.) by the end of winter, and we met the deadline," Bakanov said, according to the press service of the state corporation.
The launch table at the only site on Baikonur from where Soyuz rockets can be launched was damaged after the launch of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier with the Soyuz MS-28 manned spacecraft on November 27 last year. According to Roscosmos, a complete replacement kit for the maintenance cabin has arrived at the cosmodrome, and the launch pad should be ready for the first launch at the end of winter 2026.
