OREANDA-NEWS  The International Space Station (ISS) is scheduled to be flooded in 2030, and preparations for this will begin in a couple of years. Dmitry Bakanov, the head of the Roscosmos state corporation, told the Scout magazine about this.

"In 2028, we will begin the gradual removal of the station from orbit, followed by flooding, which is scheduled for 2030," the CEO said.

In January, Bakanov said that Roscosmos would discuss with NASA the timing of the ISS de-orbiting within a year.

In July 2025, the head of the state corporation visited the John F. Kennedy Space Center in the United States, where he met with the crew of the Crew Dragon spacecraft before flying to the ISS.
