OREANDA-NEWS  Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, said that a recession in the global economy cannot be avoided. He wrote about this on the social network X.

Dmitriev predicted a global recession and stressed that it would come as early as 2026.

"A global recession is inevitable this year, and energy importing countries will be the hardest hit. This will become clear to many by June," he said.

Earlier, Dmitriev said that five EU countries were particularly vulnerable to an energy shock. These are Germany, Poland, Belgium, Italy and Romania.
