OREANDA-NEWS  Russia and Argentina have good prospects for developing cooperation in the field of hydropower and lithium mining, Russian Trade Representative Vitaly Kondratenko told RIA Novosti.

"We have very good prospects for the development of mutually beneficial economic cooperation. The main ones are renewable energy, hydropower, mining, I mean the extraction of rare earths. Lithium is very interesting for Russian companies," he said.

On Wednesday, a meeting of the Business Council of Russia and Argentina was held at the Russian House in Buenos Aires.

According to the trade representative, there are good opportunities for cooperation in the field of agricultural engineering.

"There are prospects, but everything depends on the readiness of our companies. Despite some difficulties with transportation and logistics chains, business is looking for ways," said the trade representative.

Kondratenko added that Argentine entrepreneurs from various provinces such as Santa Fe, Chubut, Neuquen, Rio Negro, Salta, Mendoza and Tierra del Fuego are interested in working with Russia.
