Russia and China discussed cooperation in the energy sector

OREANDA-NEWS The relevant departments of Russia and China discussed the expansion of energy supplies to China, as well as the possibility of implementing joint projects to liquefy natural gas (LNG) and create favorable conditions for coal exports, the Russian Ministry of Energy said.
On Thursday, Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev held talks with Wang Hongzhi, head of the State Energy Administration of China, as part of a working trip to China.
"The parties discussed energy cooperation in all sectors of the fuel and energy complex. The key topic of the meeting was the prospects for expanding Russian energy supplies to China. The participants also considered the possibility of implementing joint LNG projects," the report says. In addition, the results achieved in the supply of natural gas from Russia to China were noted.
"During the talks, issues of cooperation in the coal sector were also touched upon. In particular, it was about creating favorable conditions for the export of coal products to China," the Ministry of Energy added.
