OREANDA-NEWS Gold reserves in Russia's international reserves increased in September for the first time in a year and a half - by 3 tons, according to an analysis by RIA Novosti of data from the Bank of Russia.

As the Central Bank reported earlier on Monday, as of October 1, the gold reserve amounted to 74.9 million troy ounces, or 2,329.65 tons, an increase of 0.1 million troy ounces, or 3.1 tons, over the month.

This was the first increase in the volume of gold held in the Central Bank's vaults since April 2024. At that time, the increase also amounted to 3.1 tons, and reserves amounted to 75.1 million troy ounces, or 2,335.9 tons. After that, reserves were stable or decreased in January and August of this year.
