OREANDA-NEWS   Russia's international reserves decreased by five billion dollars, amounting to 729.1 billion as of November 21. This is reported on the Central Bank's website.

The 0.7 percent decrease over the week was mainly due to a negative revaluation, the Central Bank noted.

In mid-September, the size of Russian reserves surpassed the $700 billion mark for the first time, and by October 18, simultaneously with record-breaking gold, it reached a historic high, after which it declined for three weeks in a row amid a corrective drop in precious metal prices, decreasing by $ 22.6 billion during this time.

The indicator recovered most of this drop last week, adding $ 14.3 billion in seven days.

International or gold and foreign exchange reserves are highly liquid foreign assets available to the regulator. We are talking about foreign currencies, gold, a reserve position in the IMF and special drawing rights.
