OREANDA-NEWS  According to the results of the first seven months of 2025, the total expenditures of the Russian budget, according to preliminary estimates, exceeded the mark of 25 trillion rubles. A sharp increase in government spending is reported on the website of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.

During the reporting period, the total expenses of the state treasury amounted to approximately 25.19 trillion rubles. The achieved result was 20.8 percent higher than in January-July last year, the ministry noted. During this time, federal budget revenues increased by only 2.8 percent and reached about 20.32 trillion rubles.

Thus, in January-July, the expenses of the state treasury exceeded its revenues by about 4.88 trillion. As a result, the deficit for the reporting period was almost 4.2 times higher than the figure set in the initial budget projections (1.17 trillion, or 0.5 percent of GDP), and exceeds the current estimate (3.79 trillion, or 1.7 percent of GDP) by almost 1.3 times.
