OREANDA-NEWS   The past heavy rains took Samara by surprise — the city was literally flooded. Footage of the effects of bad weather is shared by the Telegram channel Mash.

Urban storm drains could not cope with the rains, which turned Samara roads into deep rivers. The water, according to locals, is ankle-deep. In some places, even geysers have formed under water pressure. In particular, at the intersection of Yeroshevsky and Malomoskovskaya streets, where streams of water under pressure gushed onto the lawn and the roadway. Several geysers also erupted on the street of the 22nd Party Congress.

Rainwater poured through the leaky roofs. In an apartment building on Nagornaya Street, streams of water gushed up to the very first floor, blocking residents from leaving the apartments. Rivers also overflowed near the shopping and entertainment complex "Kosmoport". As a result, the Leman PRO construction store was flooded. The video shows dozens of workers scooping water from the floor with shovels.

Earlier, Perm was flooded with stormwater. Sidewalks in the city went under water, and cars got stuck on the roads. One of the city's neighborhoods, Verkhnyaya Kurya— was left without power due to a tree that collapsed on the wires.
