OREANDA-NEWS  The Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow sentenced Interior Ministry generals Sergei Umnov, Alexei Semenov and Ivan Abakumov in the case of receiving bribes through the Police Department fund. This is reported by TASS.

Lieutenant General Umnov received 12 years in a high-security penal colony with a fine of 35 million rubles, the former deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, Abakumov, received 11.5 years with a fine of 25 million rubles, and the former head of the traffic police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region, Semenov, 15.5 years. Abakumov and Semenov were stripped of their major general ranks.
