Russians named the main environmental problems

OREANDA-NEWS More than half of the residents of Moscow and the region are concerned about the problems of reducing emissions and recycling. Russians named the main environmental issues in a study by the Rockwool company, the results are reported by Gazeta.Ru».
The survey showed that 28 percent of Muscovites have become more interested in the environment over the past five years. Five percent began to closely monitor the activities of local industrial enterprises, including their compliance with environmental standards. Another 14 percent said they had always been concerned about the environment.
Residents of the capital region consider emissions reduction (57 percent), recycling (53 percent) and resource savings (31 percent) to be priority issues on the ESG agenda. Another 26 percent named employee care as the most important point, while 21 percent mentioned the use of renewable energy. 16 percent admitted that they are not interested in ESG.
According to the respondents, it is most important to take into account the environment when buying food (51 percent). Children's goods came in second place (12 percent), household chemicals came in third (7 percent). Another 6 percent voted for building materials.
Earlier, Russia began to monitor garbage collection in a new way. To do this, the Russian Environmental Operator (REO) has launched a rating on the provision of municipal solid waste disposal services for the regions.
